Financial services firm achieves "understated elegance" in client reception area
Greenspring Wealth Management provides high net worth individuals and families with wealth management services, as well as being recognized on multiple lists as a top retirement plan advisor. With rapid growth over the past few years, the firm recently made their third move into new offices and retained Juliette Palarea and JPStyles to handle the lobby and guest reception area design.
"When you're responsible for making decisions to protect and grow someone's wealth, you need to convey competence, security and even a dose of luxury while showing that you understand value and are not frivolous", stated Juliette when asked about this project. "Commercial jobs are a different challenge because you're not only designing for the client, but you're designing for their marketplace".
Partner and Managing Director J. Patrick Collins was pleased with the outcome. “Juliette and her team were able to transform our lobby into a warm, inviting and sophisticated space. We believe that first impressions are important and we expressed to Juliette that we wanted the look to be understated elegance. She did a fantastic job bringing in design elements and planning the space that achieved this objective”, stated Pat.
Juliette rose to the challenge and delivered the client project with some of the styling ques that work in her residential designs. The timelessness of hardwood flooring softened by an inviting, luxurious area rug, comfortable furniture and the warmth of incandescent lamps. The grasscloth wallcoverings are a unique addition not typically seen in a commercial environment.
"The square angles of a more contemporary design -- as seen in the sofa, coffee table and even the leather chairs -- worked great to convey the feel that Pat had in mind for his new space. They really do a great job in saying, 'we're serious about what we do, but we're current and relevant'. I see this as quite different from designing office space in the traditional or modern genres".
